    ABOUT

    Adam G. Brief is the Assistant U.S. Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to joining the U.S. Trustee Program in 2015, Mr. Brief spent 14 years in private practice, focusing on all aspects of bankruptcy and related litigation. Mr. Brief has extensive experience representing individual and corporate debtors, as well as panel trustees. In 2010, Mr. Brief was appointed by the Supreme Court for the State of New Jersey to serve as an Investigator on a District Ethics Committee. Mr. Brief also served as a Barrister with the American Bankruptcy Inn of Court. After he received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, Mr. Brief served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Stephen A. Stripp, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. In 2018, Mr. Brief was awarded a Director’s Award for Excellence in Management by the Executive Director of the United States Trustee Program. Mr. Brief is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy, professional responsibility, trustee oversight and management topics for local and national audiences. Mr. Brief is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law.
