Amy Koontz is an Assistant Ombudsman for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System where she facilitates the informal resolution of disputes between the Federal Reserve and supervised financial institutions. Ms. Koontz previously served as Chief of the Smithsonian Institution’s Labor and Employee Relations Branch, where she represented management in all aspects of labor and employment litigation, including before labor arbitrators, mediators, and settlement judges. In addition, Ms. Koontz has served in the Office of General Counsel at the Government Accountability Office and the Legal Division at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. Ms. Koontz is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and the University of Virginia School of Law.
