ABOUT
Brooke Schumm is a principal and President of the general practice firm of Daneker, McIntire, Schumm, Prince, Manning & Widmann, P.C. in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Schumm concentrates his practice on commercial litigation and insolvency, and lending transactions, and prosecutes patents and handles intellectual property matters and food regulatory matters. He has been a bankruptcy trustee, plan administrator, creditors’ committee counsel, and debtor’s counsel obtained and served as counsel for state-court receivers.
Mr. Schumm is former Chair of the Agricultural Finance Subcommittee of the American Bar Association, is former Vice Chair of the Software Contracting committee of the American Bar Association, and served as Vice-Chair of the Webinar Subcommittee of the Business Bankruptcy Committee. He lectures and publishes frequently in the UCC, agricultural finance, and related business law patent areas. He has also served as a delegate for several years to the Patent Cooperation Treaty Working Group of the United Nations in Geneva while Chair of the Patent Cooperation Treaty Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He has been a member of the Food and Diet Supplement Committee and a speaker at several Food and Drug Law Institute meetings.
A 1980 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Mr. Schumm also graduated “with distinction” with a B.S. in Operations Research from the College of Engineering at Cornell University in 1977. Mr. Schumm is admitted to practice in Maryland, Illinois, Florida and California, and to U.S. District Courts in Maryland, Illinois and the District of Columbia. The firm=s practice includes clients throughout the U.S, but primarily in Maryland, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.
