Cathy L. Reece chairs Fennemore Craig, P.C.’s Financial Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group in Phoenix, Arizona. She has extensive experience in real estate and commercial finance workouts and bankruptcies in just about every industry and also works with clients structuring complex transactions and purchasing distressed assets. She is (a) lead counsel for ML Manager LLC which manages and is liquidating the In re Mortgages Ltd. $900 million loan portfolio secured by real estate, (b) represented the Committee in the non-profit entity Baptist Foundation of Arizona bankruptcy case with over 13,000 creditors, $650 million of liabilities and over 100 related entities, (c) represented the municipality , which is the owner and landlord of the arena, in the Coyote Hockey bankruptcies, and (d) represented the secured lender on time shares in the publically traded ILX Resorts case. She also represented the secured lender and purchaser of the Veris Gold USA mining assets in its cross border cases. She has been involved in numerous real estate cases involving shopping centers, apartments, industrial centers, golf courses, mines, health care and senior care facilities, hotels and resorts.
