ABOUT
Claire is an associate in Torkin Manes’ Technology, Privacy & Data Management group, and is currently an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Privacy and Access to Information Law Section. She frequently assists clients from all sectors in respect of a wide range of privacy, technology, and cybersecurity matters, including data breach investigations and response, privacy due diligence in corporate and information technology transactions and negotiations, access to information requests, and trans-border data transfers. Claire also advises clients on various marketing and advertising matters, such as the review of print, digital and other marketing materials, including contests and social media campaigns, and compliance with the Competition Act, provincial consumer protection laws, and the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards.
Claire is a frequent author and speaker in her fields of practice and has previously held positions at the Office of the Public Sector Integrity Commissioner of Canada and the Centre for Law, Technology and Society in Ottawa. She has also served as Articling Ambassador for the Toronto region for both the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
