ABOUT
Esin Civelek is an attorney admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association and the founder of Civelek Law Firm in Istanbul, Türkiye. With more than twenty years of legal experience, her practice focuses on insolvency and restructuring, commercial law, and creditor protection. She also serves as a court-appointed Concordat Commissioner and Bankruptcy Trustee in Türkiye, roles through which she has worked directly with financially distressed companies and restructuring proceedings across a range of industries.
In addition to her legal practice, Esin writes and conducts research on insolvency and restructuring law, with a particular interest in comparative restructuring systems, pre-filing financial distress, credit markets, and creditor–debtor dynamics. Her recent scholarship includes “The Insolvency Undertow Theory,” published in the International Insolvency Review.
