    ABOUT

    Iñigo ARRUGA OLEAGA is Adviser at the Legal Services of the European Central Bank (ECB), where he has worked since the summer of 2001, with a stint at the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund in 2008-2009. He covers the European Union (EU)’s Economic Union, the EU’s financial legislation and the EU’s sanctions vs. third countries. He represents the ECB at the European Financial Markets Lawyers Group. Before that, he worked at the EU’s Court of Justice to which he came from private practice (Madrid Bar). Previously, he worked in commercial banking in New York and Madrid. He studied law and Spanish language and literature at the University of Saragossa (Spain) and European law at the College of Europe of Bruges (Belgium). He lives in Frankfurt on the Main (Germany).
