James focuses his practice on corporate restructuring and insolvency matters, helping creditors successfully navigate the bankruptcy process and ensure that their claims are paid. James also has significant experience representing both borrowers and lenders in secured commercial transactions, including those concerning the acquisition of real property.
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, James was a bankruptcy associate at an international law firm. In this capacity, James represented creditors in all aspects of complex Chapter 11 proceedings, including motions practice, adversary litigation, filing and litigating proofs of claims, the plan confirmation process, and matters concerning the appointment of a trustee.
James previously served as a law clerk to Judge Gregory Taddonio on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In law school, James was the editor-in-chief of the Notre Dame Journal of Legislation.
