ABOUT
With a unique blend of legal insight and practical experience, Julia Berry Lopez helps financial institutions navigate evolving regulations with clarity and precision. She works with clients across mortgage, manufactured housing, auto, and student lending, as well as FinTechs, sales finance companies, and other direct and indirect lenders.
Her diverse career path gives her a unique perspective on client challenges. Early experience as a paralegal handling real estate closings provided hands-on insight into the full real estate lifecycle, while her background as a freelance journalist and editor honed her ability to translate complex legal and business issues into clear, actionable guidance.
Julia also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mae A. D’Agostino of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, where she drafted civil opinions and conducted research on a wide range of matters. As a student intern at Albany Law School’s Community Economic Development Clinic, she advised clients on entity formation, local hiring policies, tax exemptions, and contract and regulatory issues.
