Karl Gao is Vice President and Global General Counsel, member of Investment Committee and Compliance Committee of NIO. Karl was awarded 2023 Most Influential General Counsel in Greater China by Chambers and the International Capital Market Lawyer of the Year by China Business Law Journal. Karl has set up various research funds and scholarships of artificial intelligence in leading universities to support legal research in AI areas. Karl is admitted in New York and received his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University and EMBA from INSEAD.
