For over three decades, Scott has been a trusted counsel for businesses, financial institutions, and their vendors. Scott has counseled and defended clients on privacy and cybersecurity, employment litigation, licensing and regulatory matters, and individual and class actions filed under the panoply of consumer protection and unfair competition statutes. Scott’s cybersecurity and privacy practice finds its DNA in decades of representing these businesses as well as having served as the DPO of his former law firm. Scott holds CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, and CIPM certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, is a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers, and previously served two consecutive two-year term appointments on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Debt Collection Advisory Committee.
