Fitch Even attorney Thomas A. James has a diverse IP practice with a particular focus on high-tech patent litigation and licensing. As a member of Fitch Even trial teams, he has litigated high-tech patent cases to trial. Tom also assists clients with the acquisition and monetization of intellectual property rights, prepares and prosecutes patent applications, and advises on a broad range of IP issues.
Drawing on his electrical engineering background, Tom has served clients ranging from the individual inventor to Fortune 50 companies in a variety of industries and technologies, including semiconductors, telecommunications, computer software, and biomedical technologies, among others.
Tom began his IP law career at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office where he served as a patent examiner for over four years.
