Amy Castell began her legal career with a hands-on approach, immersing herself in every facet of her company’s operations and business. While in-house with various auto finance companies, she undertook training in underwriting, funding, servicing, collections, and remarketing, equipping her with a deep familiarity and appreciation of the interplay and connectivity between the various business units. This thorough knowledge and level of diligence allows her to align legal strategies with her clients’ objectives, providing clear, actionable guidance that drives real-time results.
Recently, Amy served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a large auto finance company, where she demonstrated proficiency in navigating complex regulatory environments, managing multi-state licensing programs, and overseeing dynamic privacy platforms. Her role encompassed operations, governance, compliance, and transactions. This work included successfully managing regulatory engagements and completing supervisory examinations, shepherding a sale and acquisition of a company, contract and vendor management, due diligence, and direct involvement with warehouse facilities and securitization transactions. Her adept handling of these responsibilities reflects her ability to balance financial, accounting, and transactional demands effectively.
Specifically in the auto finance context, Amy has managed dealer relationships and handled the complexities of contract purchases across a national footprint. She brings an established understanding of the intricacies of vehicle sales and financing including the various state Motor Vehicle Retail Installment Sales Act (MVRISA) and diverse voluntary protection product offerings.
Having spent a considerable part of her career overseeing both consumer and commercial litigation, Amy’s legal strategy is to structure strong compliant policies, procedures, and documentation to position the company favorably should a dispute arise in the future.
