    Daniel P. Schaefer, the Managing Partner at Esbrook P.C.’s Washington, DC office, is an accomplished litigator experienced in directing complex civil cases in federal and state courts nationwide. He has a distinguished record of trying cases to verdict, successfully arguing appeals, and securing outstanding results for his clients.

    Daniel’s expertise spans a multitude of industries and disciplines. He helms an active commercial litigation practice, specializing in labor and employment, breach of contract, product liability, financial fraud, and business torts. His proficiency in government litigation extends to False Claims Act litigation, administrative and regulatory law, defense and national security, civil rights, cybersecurity, privacy, and antitrust and cartel enforcement. A testament to his rich experience in both the public and private sectors, Daniel excels at navigating complex disputes where clients’ interests overlap with governmental, regulatory, and public policy issues.

    Before his tenure at Esbrook, Daniel served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia from 2016 to 2022. As a Civil AUSA, Daniel represented the United States and federal agencies in hundreds of civil matters, defended class actions, managed trial teams, and argued appeals. Earlier in his career, Daniel represented corporate plaintiffs victimized by price-fixing cartels in complex antitrust litigation as a litigation associate at a D.C.-based mid-sized law firm.

    Daniel is a Member of the ABA’s Business Law, Litigation, and Administrative Law Sections. He currently serves on the Host Committee for the Business Law Fall Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, September 7-9, 2023.
