Practice Area Insights — Bad Boys of Bankruptcy: Behind the Voices

13 Min View By: Hon. Elizabeth L. Gunn, Charles Rubio

The ABA Business Law Section’s podcast To the Extent That covers a wide range of topics, but only in one series has an episode gotten “from rap stars to tiki bars within about forty-five minutes.” That series, “Bad Boys of Bankruptcy,” covers cases in which people have done the wrong thing in a bankruptcy context, from a debtor who fled to France with two enormous diamonds to a lawyer serving as debtor’s counsel who was imprisoned for failing to disclose connections to creditors in the case. In this conversation, series host Judge Elizabeth L. Gunn and contributor Charles Rubio discuss the genesis of the podcast series, standouts and trends among the “bad boys,” and the podcast’s combination of intriguing stories with “learning about what transpired from a practitioner’s perspective in the underlying cases.”
