ABOUT
Erica Powell works on resolving consumer financial services and business banking compliance issues that arise for financial institutions nationwide. She helps depository institutions, FinTechs, lenders, mortgage companies, sales finance companies, and payments companies overcome complex regulatory challenges and ensure compliance with state and federal licensing and regulatory requirements.
During law school, Erica clerked as a Summer Associate in McGlinchey’s New Orleans office. She gained experience in legal research, writing, and drafted pleadings as an intern with the Southern District of Alabama Federal Defenders Organization and served as a Research Assistant for a Tulane University Law School professor, during which she conducted document and photographic research on racial injustices post-Emancipation and its impact on the lives of Black Americans. Erica also served as Administrative Justice for the Intraschool, Tulane Moot Court Program and Head Coach of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Team.
Prior to law school, Erica participated in Advocacy and Campaign Training (ACT) with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in 2019.
